Season 59

Noises Off
By Michael Frayn
Comedy | September 10 – September 22, 2024

The comedy where everyone gets caught in the act!

“A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is a festival of delirium.” – The New York Times

A touring troupe’s flop of a play revolves and devolves into comedy chaos in this multi-award-winning play within a play. Doors slam, sardines fly, and trousers drop in Michael Frayn’s side-splitting British farce about a theatre company desperately trying to get their act together. Both onstage and backstage, chaos reigns for a troupe of floundering actors whose forgotten lines, misplaced props, and steamy romantic entanglements make it nearly impossible for the show to go on. An uproarious love letter to the theater, Noises Off is a peek behind the curtain—where everything that can go wrong, does!

Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight – A New Version for the Stage by Steven Dietz
Regional Premiere | October 22 – November 3, 2024

A portrait of courage in the face of evil.

“A masterpiece of suspense.” –New Yorker Magazine (Praise for Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight)

The sanctity of marriage is threatened when sanity is at stake. Strange things start to happen to newlyweds Bella and Jack in this turn-of-the-century Victorian thriller as their seemingly perfect marriage devolves into something more sinister.  Gaslight thrillingly delves into the horrors of psychological abuse, where the truth is fickle for characters and audiences alike. With undertones of Sherlock Holmes and film noir, it’s a story filled with mystery, deceit, and double-crosses. This Gaslight is the first authorized update/adaptation of the Patrick Hamilton classic.
