During the run of the show, New Stage will be hosting the following events:
- March 11: Actor Chat – Post show discussion in the Auditorium with the Actors
- March 12: NST Dialogue with Vangela Wade, President and CEO, Mississippi Center for Justice – Post show discussion in the Hewes Room.
- March 15: Native Son by Richard Wright, adapted by Nambi E. Kelly: Staged Reading as part of the MS Play Series directed by Yolanda Williams; 4 p.m. in the Hewes Room – Admission is free for Pipeline ticket holders and $5 for all others.
Cancelled due to COVID-19 Pandemic:
- March 17: Educator Night – Educators receive a $15 ticket as well as a post show discussion and complimentary beverage; moderated by Von Gordon, Youth Engagement Coordinator, The William Winter Center for Racial Reconciliation. Mr. Gordon will moderate a discussion titled Between A Rock And A Hard Place: Teachers and the School to Prison Pipeline – The multidimensional challenges that teachers face in managing classrooms and learning while trying to protect every child
- March 18: NST Dialogue with Oleta Fitzgerald, Southern Regional Director, Children’s Defense Fund – The discussion will take place in the Hewes Room after the performance with the theme “Dismantling the Cradle to Prison Pipeline.”
- March 20: Youth Night – Students receive a discounted rate on tickets as well as a post show discussion with members of the cast
- Ongoing: We Real Cool Poetry Contest (details to follow)
