POSITION: Education Director

New Stage Theatre is seeking a full-time Education Director for immediate employment. The Education Director will run our active Education Department as well as assist the Artistic Director in artistic operations and coordinating community engagement programs. Reporting directly to the artistic director, the ED is responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs for children, youth and adults, including arts-in-education tours, student matinees, public classes, summer day camps, youth acting troupe, in school residencies and workshops. The ED will be responsible for overseeing the education staff including the recruitment, training and supervision of the Professional Intern Program. Other duties include creating educational materials, coordinating student matinee school groups, facilitating pre and post-show discussions/lectures, and strategizing on expansion of current and new educational and artistic programming.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, professional, and have a strong background in education and, as well as directing and/or producing. This position requires a strong project manager and team player, as well as computer proficiency and attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree in theatre, theatre education, or related area required. Candidate should have professional teaching and directing experience. Management and administrative experience is a plus.
Salary is competitive, based on experience.
